Help to Buy opens the door to Nicola and Keith's dream home at The Sidings

Nicola and Keith have found the perfect location for their dream family home at The Sidings, Taylor Wimpey's popular development in the bustling town of Eastleigh, Hampshire, after deciding to make a complete lifestyle change.

The couple, along with their six-year-old son Alfie and two cats, moved into their brand new four-bedroom 'Broadsman' townhouse at The Sidings in February 2016, after relocating from a pub in the nearby village of Upham, where they lived for 10 years.

Nicola, who works as a contact centre director, says: "Keith was the publican and head chef in the pub and we lived above it for a long time, but eventually we came to the decision it was no longer the lifestyle we wanted as a young family and so looked to leave it behind and make a change.

"We decided to purchase a new-build because Keith and I have such busy work schedules that we have very little family time, so by choosing a brand new home we're able to spend more quality time together, rather than doing DIY work, so it really suited all of our needs."

"Without the Help to Buy scheme we wouldn't have been able to get this house, and it also meant we were able to customise the interior and have it the way we wanted for our family," continues Nicola.

They found the location of The Sidings offered them the perfect place to purchase their new family home.

"We wanted somewhere that was still close enough to Alfie's school, as it was a priority not to move him, so the location of The Sidings is ideal," says Nicola.

"We're also close to the M3 and M27, which makes commuting to work easier for both of us.

"As well as having good travel links, we're close to Eastleigh town centre which has good entertainment options, including a cinema and a bowling alley, plus we can easily travel to London when we want to see a show, so it was very appealing to us and has ticked all of our boxes."

Nicola adds: "The Taylor Wimpey staff were helpful and kept us well-informed, and the service we've received from the team on site since moving in has exceeded all of our expectations in every way.

"As we were among the first residents to move in at the development there's still a lot of building work going on, but the levels that Taylor Wimpey have gone to in order to be respectful and considerate is fantastic.

"I can't give enough praise to Gareth and Phil, the Site Managers - they've been excellent at communicating with us and if there's ever a problem they're so quick to sort it out. Once you've moved in you're definitely not forgotten about! We're all really enjoying living here."

There's a superb range of homes currently available to reserve at The Sidings, with prices starting from £247,000.

The Sidings is within easy reach of Eastleigh town centre, where there's a wide range of shops and supermarkets, as well as leisure and entertainment facilities including a leisure centre with swimming pool, sports hall, squash courts and fitness suite.

Families will appreciate there's a choice of well-regarded schools for children of all ages within walking distance, while Eastleigh railway station is also just a short walk away, with regular services to London Waterloo in just 75 minutes, as well as Southampton, Winchester, Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Poole.
